Concept of the international forum in honour of Makhtumkuli's jubilee presented at the CIS headquarters

At the regular meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS member states to the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth held in Minsk on 30 July, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belarus Nazarguly Shagulyev made a presentation on the Concept of the international forum "Interconnection of times and civilisations - the basis of modern peace and development" dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Makhtumkuli. The forum is scheduled to be held on 11 October in Ashgabat with the participation of leaders of many countries and authoritative international organisations. The representative of Turkmenistan noted that the year 2024, being held in the country under the motto "Treasure House of Makhtumkuli Fraghi's Mind", is marked by large-scale celebrations and numerous events in honour of the anniversary of the great classical poet and thinker of the East not only in Turkmenistan but also around the world. One of the final chords of the year dedicated to Makhtumkuli Fraghi will be the forthcoming forum of heads of state and government in Ashgabat. The work of Makhtumkuli Fraghi, imbued with the ideas of patriotism and unity, proclaiming universal humanistic and moral values, is of great importance in the modern world, promoting intercultural dialogue, expanding cooperation between countries and disseminating the best examples of national literary heritage through modern formats. The forthcoming forum is intended to emphasise the importance of cultural interaction that contributes to peace and development on a universal scale, overcoming the fragmentation of the world community and uniting it for a safe and better future.
